Side note: Watching Taylor Townsend win with A. Parks in their first-time pairing was a wonderful moment for them and US tennis. I was so impressed with Taylor's character - when Alycia got down after some bad mis hits Taylor was always right there encouraging her. Assuming she'll play with Laila in New York?

I did not know this story until today even though I have been a player and avid watcher of Wimbledon. It was written beautifully and held my interest throughout. Thanks and kudos to you!

Great writing on a great man. I remember shaking Noah’s hand in Indianapolis, probably US Clay tournament. He was just wandering around with fans. Pretty unusual the players. I count him a good person.

He was the first I ever saw hit a ball between the legs while running away from the net towards the baseline. If that shot is not named after him, it should be.

What a great story! I especially love the last paragraph. It’s that dreamer quality of his I’ve always loved. Even though we want champions to keep winning tennis matches I find Noah’s path very beautiful. Thank you.

I dont remember the french open victory, but i remember Noah at Wimbledon, diving around the court like a first rate goal keeper. He brought joy to the court and was one reason i took up tennis as a kid. My memories of Noah embody everything that is good in sport.
